First time at Lawanya and it won't be our last! Everything was made incredibly fresh to order, and the wait was definitely worth it. The restaurant itself is impressively well-maintained and clean – we even saw staff meticulously cleaning before they opened. The food was the star: the mutton was tender, perfectly seasoned (no gaminess!), the petai sambal was packed with flavor, and the prawns were crunchy and wonderfully spiced. Enjoyed the fish and vege too. Fish super fresh and smooth, well seasoned with curry powder. A fantastic lunch, especially with their nice teh tarik. Highly recommended! Please go early to avoid the crazy crowd.

First time visiting Lawanya Food Corner during the lunch rush, and it was packed . They offer more than 40 dishes, so deciding took a while . I had the thanisaar and tauhu sambal (I was going vegetarian that day), and both were delicious — the tauhu sambal had just the right level of spiciness. My friends tried some of the non-veg options and commented that the poliche kerrai was a rare and unique find, not often seen at other stalls. One of them had the mutton, which was a bit on the chewy side, but still tasty and flavorful. The only downside is the heat — it’s a roadside setup with wall fans, so it gets pretty humid during peak hours. But overall, the food and variety make it worth a visit. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu

Just about to miss my lunchtime here in this restaurant as crowd overflowing .. but just in time, people started to move out, we got our seatings .. (Peak hours 12pm to 1pm) .. Not much varieties of food compared to my last visit here .. probably I'm late .. Rice was optional (White rice and Parboiled rice) Chicken Varuval (dry dish) .. - filled with spicy herbs .. - deep masala flavoured .. Mutton curry (should've had more) - tender juicy - fall apart meat - spicy authentic gravy Overall earthy and robust .. Keerai Kari (Spinach Curry) - BEST - wholesome and wonderful texture - hot, sour, thick and creamy .. unexplainable taste .. Fried Chicken - just nice .. since not served hot, the flavor or spice doesn't much enhance the taste .. Fried Cauliflower - also just nice Fried Bitter gourd - dried and not chewable (past peak hour) Cucumber Raita - cucumber dunked in fresh creamy yogurt - refreshing dip - with the sunny weather, it's just whoopee Mooru (spiced buttermilk drink) - jazzed up with onions, chilies, curry leaves, and ginger .. - invigorating and distinctly tangy taste .. All meals served with plain water, papadam and rasam (spicy soup) .. Heard about their breakfast varieties .. Definitely gonna try any time soon .. *This restaurant is by roadside, thus customers should be more careful while at hand wash area or while queueing for food ..

Pretty delicious offerings. Most are stored inside claypot to keep warm, but didn't feel warm when served. Maybe pot also cooled down. Chicken curry and mutton didn't feel too spicy and spices not too strong, just nice. Mutton doesn't have the "gamey" taste. They also have vegetarian options. Reasonable price, RM18 for 1 vege, 1 vegetarian meat, and 2 meats. Dining is hot on a hot day. It's a roadside stall anyway. There are wall fans. Queue to get food, challenging when raining. Appreciate if diners can return used empty plates to the washing area. Auntie will appreciate you

A hidden gem tucked in an alley. Open and airy space with an array of choices catered to satisfy everyone's preferences and needs. And most importantly the food tastes home cooked. And you don't get that MSG feel, after eating, chugging down litres of water. For those who loves 'traditional' vegetables, this should be a spot that you wouldn't want to miss out. Absolutely satisfying. The queue starts at 11.30am and goes on and on. From students to office workers, it's a favorite spot for everyone, not only because of the price but the friendly and warmth displayed by the staff and owners themselves.

Hidden Gem in brickfield. Located at back alley. Great variety for vegetarian and meat. I am a meat eater, the vegetables here are so delicious. Asian courgette 胜瓜 is the one we don’t get a lot in Indian cooking. The other I love so much is huge bean sprouts (taugeh) dish. Refreshing. Can’t escape from mustard seed cabbage. Top up with fish and chicken curry sauce. RM8 come with popadom and lasam. Will definitely come Again.
